Massimiliano Galassi, RA
Associate Director, Architecture
Biography
With more than 20 years of experience, Massi serves as a Associate Director at HLZAE. He coordinates with clients and contractors, defines the scope of work, prepares construction documents, performs construction administration, and conducts feasibility studies and forensic investigations.
Massi worked on the restoration of 75 Central Park West, a historical building listed in the National Registry of Historical Places. The main entrance for the building was renovated, drawing more attention to the ornate and prominent façade. For 56-11 94th Street in Elmhurst, Queens, Massi led emergency repairs after a devastating fire nearly destroyed this seven-story residential building. Our team provided architectural and engineering support to ensure a quick and effective rebuilding of the apartments damaged by the fire. Massi also led the restoration of 20 West 44th Street (General Society of Mechanics & Tradesmen), an individual landmark near Grand Central Station, and the Majestic Theatre, an individual landmark in the Theatre District, where the street façade of both buildings was restored, cleaned, and repainted to bring it back to its original appearance and colors.
Massimiliano earned Master of Architecture from Università degli Studi di Firenze in Florence, Italy.
