REMINDER: FISP Cycle 9 Window Deadlines & Openings
October 12, 2021
As 2022 quickly approaches, we want to remind you about the upcoming FISP Cycle deadlines and window openings in order to take the necessary action for your building:
- The Cycle 9 Window A Deadline is February 21st, 2022. This applies to building block numbers ending in 4, 5, 6 or 9
- Cycle 9 Window B is open and accepting inspection reports through February 21, 2023. This includes block numbers ending in 0,7, or 8
- Cycle 9 Window C will open February 21, 2022 for blocks ending in 1, 2, or 3
In the past two cycles combined, HLZAE has filed the most FISP reports according to the statistics reported by the Department of Buildings(DOB) and is fully staffed and prepared to perform the necessary inspections for your building(s).
We encourage you to plan now to give yourself ample time to have your building inspection completed in order to avoid late filing penalties from the DOB. Late filing fees include: $1,000/month penalties and an additional $5,000 failure to file penalty, which is assessed on an annual basis.
Once the inspections are completed, HLZAE will submit the required report to the DOB. We have a 90% rate of approval upon the first submission and a 97% approval rate on any rejections/clarifications requested by the Facades Unit.
HLZAE provides our clients with a thorough evaluation and analysis of building façades upon which you can base construction and rehabilitation decisions and maintain compliance with FISP requirements. Our goal is to consistently provide the highest quality professional architectural and engineering services for preserving a facade’s integrity while factoring in logistics and the reality of your budgets and goals.

Rope Access Inspections:
Our team of 10 SPRAT/ IRA Certified Inspectors are fully prepared to perform your FISP inspection by Rope Access to meet the upcoming deadline.
Benefits of a rope inspection include:
- Rope inspections are performed faster and more efficient than traditional inspections
- Ability to access higher, tighter and more difficult areas of a building without bulky scaffolding and equipment
- Our team typically only needs access to the roof, which is less invasive for your tenants and reduces exposure to others
- Fewer personnel are required to perform a rope inspection leading to minimal downtime, increased production, and reduced costs for our clients
