HLZAE Gives Back

2020 was undoubtedly a challenging year, but with the support of our dedicated staff and our valued clients, HLZAE was able to come out stronger than ever so we felt it was only necessary to give back.  

It has been a yearly holiday tradition to send our clients and friends a giant custom engraved chocolate bar, carved with the façade of an iconic building we were privileged to work on over the past year. Given the current pandemic, we knew a different expression of what 2020 meant to us was needed… something that could convey the impact the year had on so many lives, as well as the immense gratitude we feel.  

As diehard New Yorkers having the privilege of repairing hundreds of buildings in this great city, we’ve decided to make a charitable contribution in honor of our clients, colleagues and friends to those “people of New York” who have put their lives on the line for us… the frontline healthcare workers.  

These tireless heroes are an inspiration to us all and remind us of our humanity even in a time of crisis. HLZAE has donated over 1,000 hot dinners to the workers at Mount Sinai Hospital. The meals for the frontline healthcare heroes have been provided by local restaurants within the Mount Sinai neighborhood to help support the community at the same time.  Howard had the honor and privilege of being a part of hand delivering the final wave of meals. These tireless heroes are an inspiration to us all and remind us of our humanity even in a time of crisis

As we look ahead to 2021, we remind ourselves that as New Yorkers, we are often tested but never defeated. The experiences of this past year give us hope for a brighter future and we will always remain grateful to the people of our great city.
