2020 Holiday Embargo Details
November 2, 2020
Starting at 6AM on November 24, 2020, a Special Holiday Construction Embargo shall be in effect through 11:59PM on December 27, 2020. During this time period, only emergency work may be performed if an emergency number is received from NYC Department of Transportation (DOT).
Under this embargo, roadway and sidewalk construction activities as well as utility cover openings will be restricted. To see which roads are affected, view the following list of streets:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the unpredictability of future special events/activities throughout the city, OCMC will be more flexible in our review of Holiday Construction Embargo waivers. Whenever possible, additional hours will be granted during the embargo period.
Prior to this embargo period all necessary measures must be taken so that all roadways and sidewalks are in proper condition to allow for the expeditious and safe movement of vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
HLZAE can help you prepare for this embargo to ensure you avoid any possible violations.
