Welcome to Portico
April 2, 2024
The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) recently rolled out a new online portal, Portico. Moving forward, all new applications and amendments to previous applications must be submitted using this portal.
What is Portico?
Portico is a web-based permit portal that allows owners of designated properties to file applications for permits, upload supporting documentation (photographs, architectural plans, presentations), view the status of the application, and receive final permits. Applicants can also amend existing permits and request notices of compliance.
The portal employs an Application Assistant, or “wizard,” for all applications, asking applicants a series of simple questions to direct them to the correct application process and to provide directions on the materials required. Portico is configured to allow multiple users to access the same application, so property owners will be able to view the application status at the same time as their representatives.
How HLZAE Can Help
This portal allows for various stakeholders (architect, engineer, owner, project manager, filing representative, etc.) to have their name and email address entered on a project. However, one individual will be designated as the primary contact person for the project. To simplify matters, our Expediting Department will handle the preparation of all submissions and our email address will be designated as the primary contact.
All documents related to a project (drawings, cover letter, photographs, specifications, etc.) will be uploaded directly onto the portal.
Property owners will need to log in using an NYC.ID account. If they don’t have one already, they will need to create one. Click here for instructions.
In addition, only the property owner is authorized to formally submit an application to LPC.
