What Are Special Inspections?

Special Inspections must be performed by Special Inspectors on behalf of a Special Inspection Agency and are conducted during the construction process at critical points during most repair and upgrade projects. Special Inspections verify that construction work critical to safety and property protection has been conducted according to the project’s approved construction documents, as well as to New York City Building Code standards.

As a Class 1 Accredited Special Inspections Agency, we offer special inspection services for all types of construction projects in New York. Since the New York City Department of Buildings began mandating third-party special inspections in 2008, clients have sought HLZAE to provide projects with an additional level of quality assurance and security.

Why Are Special Inspections Required? 

The purpose of Special Inspections is to enhance the safety of construction projects by improving the integrity of inspections and testing and preventing unqualified technicians from evaluating material installations.
